    07/03/2017 16:24

Manchester United will be snubbed by Antoine Griezmann in the summer, according to reports in Spain.

Atletico Madrid had allegedly agreed to move to Old Trafford where he would link up with France team-mate Paul Pogba.

The forward was also inline to land the same wages as the £86million midfielder, if he completed the move.

But Spanish paper AS claim the 25-year-old has been persuaded to stay with Diego Simeone’s La Liga side in a blow to Jose Mourinho’s plans.

Griezmann is settled in Spain and owes a debt to Atletico for signing him after he was rejected by scores of sides in his native France for being too small.

The marksman has 12 goals in 25 league games already this season and is tired of being asked about his future in every post-match interview.

The former Real Sociedad man is under contract until 2021 but was tipped to make the Premier League move by French World Cup winner Emmanuel Petit, reports The Sun.

The former Arsenal man said: “I think he will come to Manchester United – definitely.

“He will bring goals, assists but his winning mentality as well.

“Griezmann for the last four years has improved step by step and improved his level all the time.

“He has a big ambition personally but also for the team he is playing for.

“He will be a big bargain for Manchester United if they sign him.”
